The new tools aren't subtle. You can ask an AI questions about your own notes or about anything else. It will transcribe meetings and turn rambling documents into neat mind maps.
It checks your grammar and can translate text into eighty languages. The company says this AI bundle is free for its top-tier Zoho One subscribers. Everyone else pays extra.
Built on Zoho's privacy-first architecture, the app now supports shared workspaces for teams, integrated whiteboards for visual content and seamless connections with other Zoho applications, including CRM, Projects and Mail. Notebook AI brings intelligent automation directly into the note-taking experience. The new 'Ask with My Content' and 'Ask Anything' features allow users to query notes or generate insights instantly.
A Meeting Notes tool transcribes and summarises spoken discussions, while the Mind Map Generator converts long documents into clear, visual outlines. Additional enhancements include Smart Note Creation for structured content, such as checklists and templates, and Writing Enhancement for tone and grammar corrections. The app also introduces multilingual voice search and translation across 80 global languages, including eight Indian ones, and lets users customise tone and style for different audiences.
Zoho plans to integrate Notebook with Zoho CRM and Zoho Voice soon, enabling automatic transcriptions and AI-generated meeting summaries within CRM records. Notebook AI is included at no extra cost for Zoho One premium users and available as a standalone add-on.
For a company already inside many offices, this is a logical land grab. The promised connection to Zoho CRM is the tell. If it works, sales teams could have meeting summaries and action items pop directly into a customer's record. That's a real workflow, not a gadget.
Privacy is the other card Zoho plays against giants like Google and Microsoft. It promises the data fed into Notebook's AI stays contained within its own systems. For some businesses, that matters more than any flashy feature.
The risk is bloat. An app that does everything can end up doing nothing well. Users may find the AI summaries superficial or the whiteboards clumsy.
Success depends on these tools feeling like a natural part of writing a note, not a separate chore. Zoho is betting its existing customer base will give it the patience to find out.
