Creating art to accompany AI-narrated audio stories in a new feature called Copilot Audio Expressions. It's a cog, not a standalone engine.
That engine is Microsoft's growing portfolio of homegrown AI. Recall August: the company announced MAI-Voice-1 for speech and a text model, MAI-1-preview. MAI-Image-1 is the next, logical piece.
Back then, Microsoft hinted it might swap OpenAI's tech for MAI-1-preview in Copilot in some cases. This image generator is another firm step toward technical independence.
