Google started adding its Gemini AI assistant directly into Google Docs and Sheets this week. Subscribers to Workspace’s Gemini AI plans can now open a chat window at the bottom of a Doc to draft and edit text. The same AI can build a complete spreadsheet from a description. A new search feature in Google Drive also uses Gemini to find files.
The changes, which are rolling out to Google Workspace and AI plan subscribers, include a new Gemini chat window inside Google Docs, a way to generate entire spreadsheets with AI, and a new Gemini-powered search feature in Drive.
